Cristiano Ronaldo believes his explosive TV interview, in which the Manchester United striker said he was betrayed by the club and forced out, did not distract from the Portugal World Cup dressing room.
The Portugal captain said he was not concerned about how his actions would affect his team, adding that he was very happy with their chances of winning the World Cup.
” The best moments in my life are always my moments, ” Ronaldo told a news conference yesterday.
” I don’t have to think about what other people think. I talk when I want to. The players have known me so well over the years and who I am as a person.
Ronaldo, 37, confirmed the awkward handshake between him and attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes , caught on camera and going viral, was the result of a banter between his Portugal and Manchester United teammates .
“My relationship with Fernandes is very good,” Ronaldo said. “I was joking with him. His plane was delayed and I asked him if he just came by boat .

After missing Thursday’s friendly against Nigeria in Lisbon with a stomach bug, Ronaldo has been training as usual with his team-mates since arriving in Qatar on Friday and says he feels in good shape.
Ronaldo said: ” I feel good, I’m fit and I’m training well and ready to start the World Cup in the best shape possible. ”
” I think this Portugal team has amazing potential. I think we can win for sure, but we need to focus on the next game. So, it’s focusing on Ghana, getting a win, and going from there.
